Management point

Keep referral, assignment and information transfer transparent. The file should show who selected the assessor, who instructed them and what information was supplied.

01

Typical scope

Depending on the assignment, the assessment may address damage causation, repair route, repair cost, replacement value, residual value, repair duration and diminished value.

02

Independence and selection

The dealership may explain available process options but should document the customer’s choice and avoid creating the impression of an undisclosed commercial arrangement.

03

Information transfer

Vehicle identity, photographs, prior damage, dismantling findings and supplements should be supplied accurately and promptly.

04

Process partnership

A well-defined handover reduces duplicate inspection, missing supplements and invoice disputes. It does not merge the assessor’s role with the workshop’s commercial interests.
